How to convert US dollars to Iranian toman
Multiply the dollar amount by the quoted price of one US dollar in toman. To convert toman back to dollars, divide the toman amount by the same rate. The converter displays the rate and its timestamp alongside the result, making the calculation basis clear.
Convert euros, dirhams, yuan and Canadian dollars
The same calculation applies to EUR, AED, CNY and CAD. Choose the foreign currency as the source and toman as the destination. Swap the currencies to reverse the calculation. When both currencies are foreign, the tool calculates a cross rate from their respective toman values rather than quoting a direct market transaction.
What is the difference between toman and rial?
This tool uses the convention of 1 toman equal to 10 Iranian rials. Its main prices are shown in toman, so divide a rial amount by 10 before entering it as toman. For example, 10,000,000 rials equals 1,000,000 toman. Checking the unit helps avoid a tenfold error. IRT is used as an internal label for toman in this tool; it is not presented as an official ISO currency code.
Rate source and update frequency
Rates are retrieved from public Iran Market Data files. Arsam checks the data every 10 minutes, while the source normally publishes updated files every 30 minutes. A new check does not necessarily produce a new rate. The timestamp beside a result identifies the rate used, not merely the time the website checked the file. Delayed data is labelled accordingly.
Why might an exchange provider quote a different price?
The final quote can depend on the buying or selling side, cash versus transfer service, transaction size, fees and execution time. This converter does not include those costs and does not offer currency exchange or money transfers. Confirm the final rate and charges with your chosen provider before a transaction.
Using currency estimates for trade planning
Use the converter to compare preliminary prices, estimate the toman value of a supplier quotation or translate a budget into a foreign currency. The result is not a complete landed-cost estimate.
